Seminar über nachhaltige Entwicklung und digitale Technologien
Das Projekt handelt sich um zwei Themen: nachhaltige Entwicklung und digitale Technologien. Welche digitalen Technologien stehen zur Beschreibung der Natur zur Verfügung? Kann eine Stadt auf europäischer Ebene aus den Daten anderer Städte „profitieren“? Wäre es möglich, einen Austausch von Daten über die Umwelt verschiedener europäischer Städte zu schaffen? Ist dies eine digitale Utopie?
Format :
Das Seminar „Data-Driven Urban Nature“ findet am WS2020/21 am KIT statt. Hybrides Format : Präsenzial + Online-Format oder vollständig online (je nach Entwicklung der Pandemie).
- Im ersten Teil des Seminars lernen die Studierenden den Umgang mit der Open-Source-Software QGIS (Geolocated Information System).
- Im zweiten Teil des Seminars erstellen die Studenten digitale Karten zu erstellen, wobei die Stadt Karlsruhe als Fallstudie dient.
Im Rahmen des Seminars werden zwei Online-Podiumsdikussionen zwischen den Studierenden und einer Gruppe von Experten organisiert.

Which data is key for the integration of nature in the city?
Which data would help urban planners to feed their designs with data-driven decisions?
Which data do plants generate? And forests?
Which challenges will designers face in the near future dealing with datasets from nature?
How to generate sets of public data to be used by European cities?
Who should have access to the data? To what specific data?
How to generate useful datasets for other cities, also in other European countries?
How to encourage the EU to promote the exchange of data and technologies between cities?
How to avoid the private monopoly of key data for nature in the city?
